Monthly meetings are held throughout the northeast Illinois region. You get
to see many different brands and styles of fire trucks along with old and
modern fire stations.
This golden opportunity to learn about fire trucks and the photographing of
them is very exciting. Each meeting we attempt to have a mini program to
highlight the meeting; it may be a movie, slide show, equipment
demonstration or fire prevention education show. In addition to the regular
meetings, small groups of club members arrange separate side trips at their
convenience to more fire stations.
Included in your club membership you receive a monthly copy of the, JOKER
STAND JOURNAL, out news letter that tells about the department that we
will be visiting that month plus up coming events, member information,
future meeting sites, and a collage of photos that members submit for
sharing from apparatus muster or personal side trip.
We are a family oriented club. Family and friends are invited to participate in
meeting functions as well as other outside events. In August we have a
family and friend picnic and a holiday party in December.
Regular club meeting meet the third Sunday of the month from September
through May.
We hope this brief description of the Fire Buffs of Illinois and what we are
involved in has piqued your interest to join us in this fun and fast growing
hobby of fire buffing.
